Too old for pregnancy?Have you been told that you are too old to get pregnant? Or have you heard of some one being told this? I have, I have heard this from so many people.

The other day, I read a piece of new from BBC – Unplanned pregnancy warning to older women over 35.

  

Experts fear older women are ditching contraception in the mistaken belief that they cannot get pregnant past a certain age.

Although fertility does wane, women can still get pregnant well into their thirties, forties and even fifties.

Abortion rates for women aged 40 to 44 match those for the under 16s, figures for England and Wales show.

In 2008, both of these groups had an abortion rate of four per 1,000 women.

So, shall we see this report from another perspective? Not contraception, but pregnancy. The message is that do not overplay the age factor in pregnancy. Pregnancy is possible until after the menopause. Good news for older mums, at least a comforting one.
